Moebius Library : Inside Moebius Part 3 Art Book Review

The final volume in the 3 part Inside Moebius series of art books published by Dark Horse, legendary French comic artist Jean Giraud ( Moebius ) takes the viewer on a surrealistic journey across a desert terrain where he interacts with comic characters of his own creation like Blueberry, Major Grubert and Arzak as they contemplate about art and creativity.

A certain visual symmetry and likeness can be found between this book and 40 Days Dans Le Desert, both set against a sprawling desert as the backdrop, with recurring imagery like the swirling organic mass/entity with tendrils.

Running at 280 pages, the full colored comic covers about 80% of the book’s contents, with the remaining featuring illustrations ( see images further below ).

A handsome hardcover volume collecting almost 300 pages of Moebius’a amazing art work, all in glorious full color prints; what’s not to like ? My highest recommendations.
